Reproductive Disorders

Reproductive issues extend far beyond fertility. In fact, they can affect women from birth through menopause. At Westchester Reproductive Medicine, we have extensive experience treating a wide range of disorders.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

This complex disorder may prevent women from ovulating, causing infertility. In addition, it can have other disconcerting effects. For example, women with PCOS may struggle with irregular periods, male pattern hair growth, weight issues and depression. Over the long term, they're more likely to develop conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension and possibly heart disease. Treatment of this common disorder will vary with the patient, and will be tailored to your symptoms and situation.

Catamenial (menstrual cycle-related) disorders

If you're having menstrually-related migraines, seizures or mood disorders, a reproductive endocrinologist (such as Dr. Bennett) can help make the proper diagnosis. Dr. Bennett collaborates with Dr. Alan Jacobs, a prominent neuroendocrinologist in the New York City/Westchester area, on hormonal treatment of these problems.

Perimenopausal issues

During the menstrual transition that takes place during menopause, a number of issues can arise, including hot flashes, irregular bleeding/periods, mood disorders and more. WRM can help alleviate these and other symptoms. For some of these perimenopausal issues, Dr. Bennett may work closely with (or refer you to) Dr. Jacobs.

Pediatric/adolescent gynecology

WRM can provide the guidance you need to help a young or adolescent girl who is experiencing precocious or delayed puberty, irregular and/or heavy periods, or no periods at all. We can determine the cause and implement a solution.
